I currently work in animal care but have previously worked as a police officer as well as a detention officer.
My true passion lies in mental health. Previous related work in this area includes working as a mental health facilitator for the NHS, as well as working with young adults with autism.
I currently work as an animal carer for Mars helping to deliver daily care for the animals as well as facilitate ongoing trials and research.
My previous job role was as a detention officer. Here I worked with Leicestershire police to ensure the well-being of detainees in custody, help the police with their investigations, and maintain up to date custody records. I have also worked as a police officer for leicestershire police where I performed many duties such as responding to emergencies, investigating crime, and safeguarding individuals.
Previously I have worked as a Group Facilitator for NHS Coventry and Warwickshire, here I deliver psychoeducation groups to service users as well as assist with DUTY calls and other aspects of the Community Health and Wellbeing team. In my previous job as a support worker I worked with adults with ASD and comorbid issues such as ADHD, LD, personality disorder and epilepsy. I have volunteered as a mentor for teenagers and young adults who face extra difficulties (such as mental health issues and learning disabilities) to help them find work experience roles and build up their confidence and skills, giving them the extra support they need to be able to thrive in a work environment.
During my undergraduate degree I also volunteered as a mental health classroom assistant for the homeless charity Crisis. Here I helped deliver CBT and DBT to homeless adults with backgrounds of complex trauma and personality disorders, so I have a wide range of experience with different mental health issues as well as practical knowledge of delivering interventions. I have also volunteered with Age UK Nottingham on their trial sex offender telephone befriender program and I am able to give non judgemental support to whoever needs it.
