Arts Practitioner - Rb&hArts, Royal Brompton Hospital - Kensington

Weekly volunteering at the Royal Brompton Hospital in Kensington working with the Rb&h Arts team. Providing arts sessions for patients and visitors delivering curated art projects with the aim of increasing patient happiness and comfort. This role has provided experience and insight into the responsibility of care within a hospital environment and cooperating with patient care.

Patient visits can be individual or communal across the wards, every month I help promote and organise the Hospitals 'Crafternoon' which is an all day open craft project using a variety of materials and inspiration, making early examples of work to advertise on social media.

Volunteer Editor and Head of Social Media - Creel Anthology

Editor of Creel Anthology, a collection of student work from The University of Essex published by Muscaliet Press in 2020 and lead member of the social media marketing. My personal work was also published in the anthology as well as in the following years. The project developed skills using Adobe InDesign and Canva. Curated and managed social media accounts for both launches on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter as well as edited and provided feedback on submitted writing.

Founder and President - Arts and Craft Society, University of Essex In my Second year at the University I founded the Art and Craft Society with the aim of creating a community space for anyone and everyone who wanted to participate. We waived all member fees and all materiels were donated by members. Students could work on their own projects or participate in the weekly tutorial.

I had already been teaching friends how to knit and continued to teach myself projects side by side to them but mostly it was promoted as a space to spend time with likeminded people and practice something mindful.

Volunteer Teaching Assistant - Ministry of Stories Hoxton - Hoxton

Working with the MoS charity to help deliver creative writing classes to children aged 8-18 working directly with groups of 3-4 a session, overseeing and encouraging creative writing and speechwriting. The Charity aims to promote creative writing amongst schools in London and has large groups of volunteers to assist in both teaching and aiding community projects about creative thinking and writing.

Volunteer Gallery Assistant - Firstsite Gallery Colchester - Colchester

Volunteering as a Gallery assistant, working with the public to advise and guide them on what the gallery has to offer and represent them. As well as assisting in the Gallery's extracurricular events. The Gallery hosted several classes and workshops priming the accessibility of the Arts. As a volunteer it was my responsibilit to be knowledgable and promote the ongoing exhibitions and performances. The space also hosted several craft markets to encourage local artisans.

Volunteer Teacher - Art Club, The University of Essex For two terms I volunteered with the Art Club as part of the V-team (a Volunteering group formed as part of the student union) at the University. We worked with the on campus nursery to create and deliver creative craft sessions in small groups with the classes aged 4-6, as well as organising volunteers as Session Leader.

Team Leader - Art Club, Hollyfield School, and Sixth Form

From GCSE to the end of Sixth Form I was part of a small team to run Art Club for the younger years, around 20 students aged 11-15 attended the weekly Art Club. The space encouraged personal projects as well as a wellness space for finishing school projects, as volunteer team leader I also created guided projects using a variety of multimedia ideas, this required sourcing the materials and planning the session beforehand and then helping the students deliver a final image.

Volunteer Team Member - Oxfam

Volunteered at the Oxfam bookshop for a year, which involved accepting and sorting donations before pricing them and shelving them using a culling system. I undertook till training and engaged with customers daily. I also managed the design of the window display allowing me to demonstrate my creativity and originality in design
