Sophie King

Psychology graduate with a passion for mental health, particularly within the clinical field for both adults and children. My degree has taught me many domains of clinical psychology, including human behaviour, counselling skills, forensic psychology, health psychology, neuropsychological assessment, and many more. I am keen to apply my knowledge to a real-world work environment.

Student Placement - Healthwatch Swindon

(2025-01 - 2025-05)

• Read and reviewed reports regarding healthcare services within Swindon
• From the recommendations written in the reports on how healthcare services can improve, I created a survey to judge if the recommendations have been useful and acted upon within these services
• I wrote up my findings and relayed these back to my supervisor
• Was asked to be part of their future project- 'Exploring how non-English residents understand and navigate the English healthcare system'.

Student Internship - Bangor University

(2025-01 - 2025-06)

• Was selected to be the student intern for the student learning and support team
• The objective was to find out what Bangor University students think of the student learning and support team
• I created a Qualtrics/qualitative survey that was marketed to all students
• I analysed these results using SPSS and communicated them back to my supervisor
• I also conveyed back proposals for improving the service based on individual research and the results

Rockclimbing Instructor/Barista - Rockstar Climbing

(2019-05)

• Duty manager at Rockstar Climbing
• Responsibility in organising and running climbing sessions
• Have the ability to adapt these sessions based on neurodivergent customers
• Communicates to customers on a variety of platforms
• Provides efficient service within the climbing gyms café, making and serving hot and cold food and drink
• Provides excellent customer service as a receptionist
