PhD-qualified chemist with expertise in materials science for renewable energy applications.
Outside of obtaining a PhD in materials science, I have worked as a demonstrator for the University of Aberdeen for 4 years and assisted in outreach events around Aberdeen where I obtained experience in science communication, teaching, and public engagement. I regularly simplified scientific concepts to make them clear to both general audiences and experts, and I supported laboratory sessions by guiding students through experiments, answering their questions, and ensured they acted safely and completed the practical within the timeframe provided.
Recently obtained a PhD in chemistry at the University of Aberdeen with a focus on materials science. I worked on projects combining experimental research, problem-solving, and computational analysis to develop and improve materials for renewable energy applications. I am proficient in X-ray and neutron diffraction, Rietveld refinement, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.
I also mentored five students, presented my research at national and international conferences, and published a paper as first author.
