Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to express my interest in applying for the role of Software Tester role with your company.

I have an engineering degree and have some work experience in the IT industry across different projects. I took a break from work in 2009 to raise a family. Through the various joys and tribulations of this process I can now say that I am glad I did and now things are in a comfortable space at the home front.

This got me to start thinking about working again. To see how I can cope with the change I took a part time role of an after-school club leader in my son’s school, teaching kids science and engineering concepts via Lego build projects. This allowed me to ease back into a working environment and get back to interacting with people in a work environment. This has only spurred me on to get a full-time job.

However, given the length of my break from technology it was only fair that I re-skilled myself before I rejoined the workforce to ensure that my knowledge was up to date and so that I could be productive in my next job. I then applied and got selected for a UK Government sponsored 3-month intensive QA Digital Bootcamp which I recently completed.

I have also recently completed Microsoft AZ-900 Azure Fundamentals certification and am currently pursuing an International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) Certification which I plan to complete in the next 3 months.

The requirements you have listed for the role are something that I can closely relate to, and I am glad to see that you invest in the individual and promote empowerment with a solution based thinking approach. I also believe that the responsibilities that you have listed for the role would help me prove my value and stretch my current knowledge and skillsets.
