I had the opportunity to observe the paediatric diabetes specialist team in Whipps Cross Hospital. I learned the importance of planning for appointments and understanding patients and communicating well with patients to deliver an excellent level of outpatient care.
Marijak Pharmacy LTD, Leyton High Road— Student
I worked alongside the pharmacist and owner of the pharmacy as a dispenser, with supervision. This allowed me to learn to properly organise and be perceptive. My role as a dispenser in the pharmacy meant that I needed to use my skill of perception to properly select and organise medication to be collected by members of the community.
This role also included an important skill of patient discretion as important personal details of patients were involved in the role, therefore, meaning preservation of dignity was important for proper care.
