I have a variety of customer service experience from retail to leisure, management and am currently under the NHS CAMHS team as a mental health support worker. I am extremely hard working and driven, always handling, and adapting to challenging situations quickly and skilfully. In all areas of work I have had to work towards deadlines.
I am committed to my career development in mental health, I am currently studying psychology and counselling with the hopes of doing a masters in systemic family therapy once I graduate. I have ways wanted to work with children and adolescents. In college I was also involved in a mentoring programme within my sixth form which encourages young pupils to come and talk to someone of their own age group with their challenges whether this be involved outside or inside the school which was strictly confidential.
Receptionist - Obaseki Solicitors
(2013-10 - 2014-07)
I had the delightful experience of working as a receptionist at a solicitor's firm for my work experience in college. I dealt with clients and their problems, answered phone calls and submitted bundles to the court. I have written attendance notes, submitted files on osprey and done money laundering checks.
I have also helped those who don't properly understand English how to fill out enquiry or legal aid forms. This enabled me to strengthen my customer service skills working in a team and dealing with customers and their enquiries efficiently.
Retail Assistant - Waitrose
(2014-11 - 2015-06)
Within my second year of college on my work experience placement I worked in Waitrose as retail assistant. Whilst being there I got to experience the different departments within Waitrose from ambient, operations and fresh. I worked there for 7months and enjoyed it a lot as I am a person that always likes to be up on my feet.
Whilst working there I had the opportunity to work in the different departments which gave me experience and a variety of skills also when dealing with customers. Overall, I would say that working there enabled me to grow more confident as I was given responsibilities and also improved my professionalism. Why this is, is because I was enabled to sit in on meetings and be a part of group meetings that took place in the early mornings of our shifts.
Also working as part of a team in order to meet an outcome for example the busiest times in the store are around lunch times and it was me and my teams job to ensure that the stock was out and filled before lunch time in which we could fill other areas. This enabled me to work on my time management skills not only this, but this enabled me to build on my problem solving skills which over time enabled me to adapt to t
Befriender / Namaste Care Project Volunteer - St Joseph's Hospice
(2015 - 2016)
There are more than one a people battle loneliness, some through bereavement and losing a loved one. Others are in the hospice and have no friends or family who visit them and are just alone all the time and lack social interaction. I started out as a befriender with my local hospice.
This was giving companionship which involved sitting talking to them and doing activities. The people that I would visit ranged in age group and I really enjoyed spending time with them and giving them that social interaction and companionship that they were lacking. I later underwent training to be a part of the Namaste Care project.
This was working with people that suffered from dementia. This involves sensory activities in a safe and comforting environment. It focuses on understanding the things that are personalised for clients under the namaste care project like and enjoy and what makes them feel happy and relaxed.
These activities are often meaningful and engaging. When visiting users under the Namaste project we would visit people in their homes, care homes, day centres, hospitals or at the hospice. I really enjoyed volunteering at the hospice.
My goal is always to help and to change lives. Wo
