I am a Senior Technologist with over 17 years of experience.
I have previously worked for several major retailers and suppliers from the high street to the luxury end of the market including working on Saville Row and Jermyn Street brands as a Garment Technologist.
I have previously worked for Seasalt , Mulberry, Phase Eight, John Lewis (contract role.) where I worked on the designer ranges Joe Casely- Hayford and Paul Costello. I have also worked for Ted Baker and White Stuff.
Additionally I was the sole technologist at Atlas Design and worked on all the customer accounts including Private Label (owned) brands such as Guthrie & Valentine, Stovel & Mason & Bugatti and supplier to many well-known luxury, Saville Row and Jermyn Street brands such as Harrods, Ede & Ravenscroft & Charlie Allen.
I have covered a wide product area which includes jerseywear, true knitwear, denim, soft separates, denim, swimwear, wovens, and plus size. This has incorporated tops, blouses, denim, outerwear, swimwear, dresses, trousers, shorts, t- shirts and swimwear.
In some of my roles, I have been responsible for training, inspiring and mentoring Garment Technologists as well as Placement Year Students, which I have found rewarding.
I have also held dual roles previously including as Garment and Fabric Technologist with responsibility for garment and fabric testing, and fabric recommendations as well working with design to produce Tech packs and new developments.
I have lot of knowledge of a wide range of fabrics such as silk, cashmere, cotton, denim fabrics, high performance sportswear and outerwear fabrics among others.
In previous roles, as well as working with Design and Production on the sampling process from proto to production, I have also been responsible for setting up, controlling and monitoring systems, including critical paths, Performance Standards, SEDEX, AQL & Inspection, Ethical Sourcing and Auditing and Risk Assessment.
My roles have also included responsibility for approving lab dips and handlooms, Performance Standards, organising and running fit meetings, technical comments, and creating and amending patterns and size charts (including from basic design sketches) and developing garments working with design at development and pre- production stages as well as quality monitoring with stores, factories and suppliers, including comparative projects, factory and supplier visits and inspections and warehouse visits and inspections.
I have worked with fabric mills, trims suppliers and factories in the Far East and Europe, and have dealt with many major high street and upper end retailers. I am a highly organised, motivated and passionate about my role.
I am proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Illustrator, Paintshop Pro, Photoshop and several databases such as CIMS, Retail Link, and GARP.
