I am a recent BSc Biomedical Science graduate and am looking for a medical laboratory assistant job.
2022-2023 Final year project.
Bioinformatics based research project using mRNA expression in lung adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma to determine differentially expressed genes and pathways between lung adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma.
April 2023 EMBL Heidelberg symposium
Attended the “Brain genome: regulation, evolution, and function” symposium held at the EMBL Advanced Training Centre in Heidelberg, Germany. Had tours of their laboratory, genomics unit and imaging centre. Assisted with poster presentations and attended talks held by EMBO publishers and editors as well as the EMBL Visitor and PhD Information teams.
Oct 2022-Jan 2023 Online research internship
4 month online research and training on basics of CRISPR/Cas9 Human Genome Engineering carried out at University of Westminster.
2020-2023 Practical experience from laboratory sessions
Temporary placement in a centre for adults with learning disabilities where I was tasked to supervise service users during different activities that were set up each day.
April 2019 Operating Theatre Live.
Hands on medical experience where I learnt how to make up a Propofol solution and administer anaesthetics based on body mass.
March 2015 Volunteering.
Helped organise a sports day for a local primary school in the Copper Box Arena where I was tasked to create and keep track of the points system and set up equipment.
