Chef De Partie The Theydon Oak is a local, busy pub and I thoroughly enjoyed working there. The workload and environment were fast paced, and hectic. Every aspect of the business commanded extremely high standards and incredible attention to detail.
The job also required planning and preparation to cater for unexpected arrivals and planned bookings. Whilst at The Theydon Oak I managed to present myself to my employer showing them that I am capable of more, and in doing so was promoted several times – eventually to the role of Chef De Partie.
Stock maintenance (both ordering and auditing)
Cooking and preparation of complete meals
Overseeing other employees works to ensure our standards are kept
Ensuring all health and safety requirements are exceeded: cleaning, maintenance, stock rotation
Logging all issues & upkeeping records for senior management
Presenting myself in a professional manner to customers
Ensuring the broader business & team are in line with requirements & standards
Creating special & seasonal dishes
I thoroughly enjoyed working at The Theydon Oak, and it is difficult to list the ways in which it has matured & improved my approach to work in every aspect. I have made many long lasting friendships here.
