Taylor Lodge

With a combination of higher-education media degrees and a variety of professional experience, I am a passionate digital content producer who is confident taking on any task.

I was employed by the University of Sussex as both a Digital Media Creator and a Freelance Video Producer. In my Creator role, I was tasked with various responsibilities, such as creative content ideation, live event coverage, interviewing, scripting, editing and publishing content on the officially UOS social media channels. These included Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.

In my Freelance role, I carried out a number of interviews for the Media, Arts and Humanities school in order to produce a series of videos highlighting the various courses available to prospective students. This required me to select the best clips, conduct paper edits and edit the content in Premiere Pro.

Having spent four years studying at the University of Sussex, I now have a first-class BA in Journalism and a distinction MA in Gender and Media. In these courses, I was challenged in my skills, gaining lessons in practical camera technique, editing practices and approaches to interviewing as well as learned important information on media law and ethics. Additionally, I developed my approach to media production, questioning the effectiveness of how images are framed in popular media and experimenting with new ways to present them.
