- Part of the team looking after upto 40 horses
- Part of the team that prepared competition horses with their day to day routine. (Mucking out, re bedding) Look after all of the equipment on the yard to ensure everything is in working condition.
- Responsible for the cleaning out of competition horses, feeding and applying medication as and when needed.
- Key to the preparation of the horses to be got ready for competitions and ensure these are ready as and when needed in a timely manner for each show and class ready for the riders to jump on and go... (Efficiency)
- Provided animals with proper nutrition to maintain or improve health.
- Responsible for brushing and cleaning the horses on a daily basis and to check for any injuries.
- Cleaning hooves and checking for lameness or infection
- Bathing and preparing competition horses ready for shows
- Cleaning of tack, bridles and saddles, rugs etc.
- Part of the team that looks after the horses to ensure they are not showing signs of Ilness, Injury or distress.
- Record keeping of the horses health, feeding, exercise and and notes for the Vets as and when needed.
- Lunging, leading, walking/handling the horses on a day to day basis as and where needed through the day.
