Childcare Assistant - Close to home

Undertook a one week placement with a child minder, with additional days subsequently requested. I worked directly with kids aged from months old to 12 I helped to comfort and reassure children learning how to understand them through body language. This helped to cultivate my communication and social skills and taught me how to tailor my communication to a wide range of audiences to best nurture them.

Through engaging in activities with children I acquired the understanding of how to emotionally stimulate them through asking/teaching numbers colors and the uses of objects to enhance their education. Consequently I strengthened my ability to build rapport with others and engage confidently in conversation.

Raising awareness project - Burnt mill academy and Chelmsford university

Working collaboratively with a team in a youth-led campaign to spread awareness of sexual harassment within schools and local communities.

• Worked within a multidisciplinary team to design and generate various posters to display throughout school and local town. Developing strong creative communication skills and an understanding of how to tailor eye-catching messages to specific target audiences
• Collaborated students from across Essex to share ideas and manufacture campaign initiatives, representing the views and concerns of young people. During discussions with the Chelmsford City Council
• Lead the planning and delivery of a presentation on crime prevention, fortifying my leadership, teamwork and public speaking skills through allocating roles, problem solving and negotiation within the group

Meet weekly with a younger student to provide guidance, support and encouragement, helping them navigate academic and personal challenges

• Developed significant active listening and interpersonal skills through asking thoughtful questions in order to gain a deeper understanding of circumstances and hence provide appropriate advice and support
