I am a First Class BSc Geography graduate with a strong passion for environmental sustainability and global hazard management. My academic background, combined with hands-on experience in research, volunteer work, and placement experience, has equipped me with skills in data analysis, report writing, and teamwork. I’ve contributed to environmental improvement through local projects and international volunteering, including a Marine and Conservation Program in Sri Lanka. I am dedicated to making a positive impact and am eager to continue this journey through roles in environmental consultancy and sustainability.
I have a diverse range of professional experience that spans environmental consultancy projects, volunteer roles, and part-time employment. Through academic projects, I developed strong data analysis and technical reporting skills, including a remote placement where I analyzed volcanic eruptions. I worked with Thelwall and Grappenhall Parish Council to design greenhouse gas reduction strategies. My international volunteering in Sri Lanka focused on marine conservation and rainforest regeneration, showcasing my passion for sustainability.
Additionally, my part-time roles, including front of house staff at Wetherspoons, a salon assistant at Toni & Guy, and a waitress at The Church Green, have strengthened my customer service, communication, and leadership abilities. These experiences have allowed me to excel in fast-paced environments while maintaining a focus on teamwork and operational excellence.
I hold a First Class BSc in Geography from the University of Hull, where I focused on environmental sustainability, climate change, and hazard management. Key modules included Professional Consultancy, Sustainable Futures, and Geohazards, which equipped me with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in environmental impact assessments and data analysis. My dissertation, which utilized terrestrial LiDAR to evaluate erosion and decomposition patterns, further developed my technical expertise in research and reporting. Throughout my degree, I also participated in fieldwork and remote placements, enhancing my practical skills in data collection and analysis. Additionally, I presented sustainability solutions at the 2024 Student Sustainability Research Conference and participated in the Yorkshire Multi-University Challenge Day 2023, further solidifying my commitment to environmental improvement.
