I have just finished my final year at Sheffield Hallam University where I studied BSc Physiotherapy. Whilst at university I have undertaken several placements which have provided me with diverse placement experience within neurological, MSK, acute respiratory and cancer rehabilitation settings. I consider myself hard-working with good interpersonal skills.
Over the course of my degree, I have been able to demonstrate my ability to assess patients, plan and deliver (under the supervision of my mentors) evidence-based rehabilitation programs based on an individual's needs and abilities. I also look to deliver patient-centered care with the aim of improving patient mobility and ultimately improving quality of life. However, I also understand the need to work within the scope of one's own practice and seek help and advice as required, always maintaining patient safety.
I also consider myself punctual and in good physical health. Through my training I have a good understanding of the importance of health and hygiene in both healthcare and domestic setting.

Physiotherapy Student - Acute Stroke Ward Placement at Barnsley NHS Trust (2024-11 – 2024-12)
This placement mainly involved conducting patient neurological assessments, followed by developing a treatment plan. I then had follow-up visits to determine the patients' progress and liaised with Occupational Therapist with regards to discharge plans. I also worked closely alongside the nursing team, clinicians and speech & language therapists.
The placement focused mainly on patients who had complex needs, with reduced physical and cognitive function, requiring the use of different mobility aids and hoists. This gave me first-hand experience of using these with patients and stressed the importance of patient safety at all times.
Physiotherapy Student - Upper Limb Outpatient Clinic Placement at Rotherham NHS Trust (2025-01 – 2025-02)
This placement mainly required me to conduct patient subjective and objective assessments followed by prescribing a treatment plan. I also led outpatient specific exercise classes where I demonstrated each exercise and ensured each patient understood what was required and performed each movement correctly, always ensuring patient safety.
Physiotherapy Student - Intensive Care Unit Placement at Derby NHS Trust (2025-10 – 2025-11)
During this placement I undertook a few different roles, these included following patients through post-operative rehabilitation plans set by their surgeons and clinical teams. I also conducted respiratory assessments on new and follow up patients, followed by walking through and performing certain non-invasive treatments. I was also able to assist with invasive treatments on intubated patients led by band 6/7 physiotherapists.
And finally, I was lucky enough to spend time with the ICU nursing team, observing one-to-one care with complex patients.
Physiotherapy Student - Community Physiotherapy Placement at Sheffield Teaching Hospital - Active Together (2026-04 – 2026-06)
During this placement I had the chance to conduct Initial assessments and post treatment follow ups with cancer patients. The goals were to gather subjective and objective information about the patient to then recommended options of support regarding dietary, physical and wellbeing needs. I also led 1 to 1 and group exercise sessions with patients ranging from 3 levels of physical ability.
These required me to prepare and plan the sessions beforehand in order to match the previously set goals of the patient, and to improve the overall strength and fitness of the patient.
Leadership Project Contributor at Sheffield Hallam University (2025-06 – 2025-08)
During the summer of 2025 I undertook a project working with the Sheffield Hallam leadership team. During this I collaborated with a few physiotherapy students to develop an informative resource to assist new students in completing mandatory training and reiterate its importance. We developed a presentation outlining our project ideas and delivered this to an independent board to gain approval before beginning development of the resource.
Volunteer Coach and Mentor at Local Football and Lacrosse Club
I have previously volunteered at my local football and lacrosse club, helping to coach and mentor the younger age groups. I was required to demonstrate drills, provide advice, and communicate with both children and parents.
Volunteer Referee at Charity Football Tournament
I have volunteered to referee at a charity football tournament.
Physiotherapist Shadow at Local Lacrosse Club
I have had the pleasure of spending a few days shadowing my local lacrosse club's physiotherapist. During these days I was able to learn about pitch side physiotherapy, and how to approach this fast paced, on the spot thinking form of rehabilitation.
