I am an enthusiastic, aspiring Teaching Assistant/Sports coach currently shadowing staff in a KS2 classroom, gaining hands‑on experience supporting pupils with Maths, English and Reading, as well as behaviour management and day‑to‑day routines. I am passionate about helping children develop confidence, engagement and positive learning habits.
I have relevant qualifications including a Level 3 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning and OPAL Play Essentials. I also have certificates in safeguarding, paediatric first aid, food hygiene, and mental health awareness. These qualifications have given me a good understanding of child development, safety and SEND needs.
I am currently shadowing a teaching assistant in KS2 at Longlevens Junior School, where I support pupils in lessons, small‑group work and 1:1 Maths sessions. I also help children with English and Reading. This is giving me knowledge of the KS2 curriculum and is also giving me experience of adapting support when needed.
I enjoy helping children to gain progress with their understanding. This experience has strengthened my behaviour‑management skills and taught me how to use positive, respectful and restorative language to help children stay focused and confident.
I previously volunteered at Upton Primary School, where I did work experience in a KS2 classroom and supported after‑school sports clubs such as football, rugby, basketball and cross‑country. This helped me build confidence in leading activities and supporting children of different abilities.
In my roles at Heron Primary, Hartpury Primary and Waterwells Primary, I have helped run play zones, breakfast clubs and wraparound sessions. These roles have taught me how important it is to be flexible, organised and to be able to use my initiative. I work closely with staff, follow school procedures and always maintain confidentiality. I also carry out equipment checks and report anything damaged to keep playtimes safe and enjoyable.
Outside of school, I am a paid coach at Gloucester City Amateur Football Club, planning and delivering sessions for primary‑aged children. This has strengthened my communication skills not only with coaching children but also talking to parents after the session. The sessions have helped to develop my teamworking skills and ability to adapt activities so every child can take part. I also take responsibility for setting up and locking away equipment, showing reliability and commitment.
Whilst still at school I took part in a Step Into Sport leadership camp at Newent Community School, where I became a young role model. I helped run primary school sports events, mountain biking competitions and pentathlon activities at All Saints Academy and Hartpury College. These experiences taught me how to communicate clearly, support children of all abilities and keep sessions running smoothly.
I am also an active member of a local chess club, where I won the Gloucestershire Under‑16 County
Championship. I have helped run chess clubs at Upton and Heron Primary Schools, breaking down complex ideas into simple steps for younger children. I also support the Young Angler Project with Newent Anglers.

I stay active by cycling and going to the gym. I enjoy playing FIFA on my Xbox and playing chess online. I also enjoy watching a range of sports including American football, tennis, and snooker, as well as regularly attending games at Gloucester City AFC.
All of these work and voluntary experiences have allowed me to work with children of different backgrounds and abilities and have shown me that working with children requires good communication, patience, encouragement and having the skills to adapt activities to suit all abilities. It's important to listen, provide feedback, and make sure every child feels included. I also believe it's essential to work as a team and be open to feedback yourself.
I am dependable and have an excellent work attendance record. I appreciate the need for confidentiality and being respectful and considerate to others. I also have basic IT skills, including word processing and emails.
I believe strongly in creating a calm, encouraging environment where every child can be confident in their learning and I would love the chance to bring my experience, love of sport and supportive approach to your workplace
