• Managing Operations to ensure scheduling targets are met safely, efficiently and with minimal impact on environment.
• Oversee crude, distillate, gasoline, jetty operations, road & rail movements.
• Coordination of outages such plant modifications & upgrades
• Permit to work issuing authority.
• Reporting at the daily meeting to Terminal's internal & external departments.
• Liaising with other departments such as maintenance to achieve continuous running of the plant and minimize downtime, along with other external authorities such as Port Authority, HMRC, NRW & FRS
• Taking part in meetings such as HAZOP and Risk Assessing to ensure that any plant modifications have been thoroughly examined and tested before using the Management of Change process.
• Ensuring the plant is built as per P&ID and vendor design, safety walkabouts, toolbox talks and box up inspections.

• Ensuring daily scheduled targets were achieved whilst trying to make the plant as safe and efficient as possible.
• Operating control panels for Tank Farm Operations (Honeywell Experian, VTW, TMS, and Invensys)
• Controlling the board and adjusting ensure on specification products and scheduled rates were achieved as per scheduling plan.
• Several safe start up and shutdown activities carried out with zero injuries or environmental issues.
• Responsible for 12 Oil Movement Technicians & 8 Contractor personnel both on Tank Farm & Jetty

• Area authority for crude, distillate, gasoline, jetty operations, road & rail movements
• Overseeing the shift team including all outside operators and contractors.
• Responsible for oil movement activities, including co-ordination with process units for feed and component run downs, product blending, road/rail/pipeline distribution and product movements to and from jetty.
• Permit to work issuing authority.
• Shift manning levels including arranging holiday time, overtime and training courses.
• Reporting at the daily meeting to other refinery departments.
• Liaising with departments such as maintenance to achieve continuous running of the plant and minimize downtime.
• Take action on alarms in accordance with critical alarm priorities
• Prioritise shift work load and distribute between area operators.

• Monitoring plant & equipment in the area of responsibility
• Areas of responsibility include Tank Farm, Jetty, Road/Rail loading, LPG loading, waste water system, slop system & 3 flares.
• Carry out readings and sample products both routine and randomly.
• Prepare equipment that requires maintenance work to ensure product quality and continued plant availability
• Prepare and inspect safety equipment.
• Deal with emergency situations, perform first aid and firefighting.
• Responsible for training new operator technicians.
