I am currently looking to further develop life skills, build new relationships and enhance my career in the world of work. I'm a bubbly character and enjoy new tasks and challenges. I am happy working alone or as part of a team and can take the initiative to put things right when needed.
I appreciate honest constructive feedback and I believe in providing others with the same, as such feedback allows us to learn from our mistakes and improves our abilities. I take pride and passion in my work, making every little detail count. During secondary school I excelled in art and design, which allowed my creativity to be explored.
Additionally, as a student who attended an engineering school, problem solving was a key aspect of day-to-day life. Due to this, I've developed a variety of skills that allow me to think through decisions carefully whilst predicting the outcome. I intend to continue furthering my education, proceeding towards a career in landscape architecture.
As I am in university, I do have a reduced availability, limited to Wednesdays, Fridays and weekends only.
Events coordinator - The Driving Edge
During the festive season, I have been employed part-time as a croupier for a fun casino (not for profit). My role involved engaging with the customers and encouraging them to play the fun-based blackjack. I built relationships with the customers to ensure that they had fun and were entertained.
I was responsible for setting the table up and packing it down at the end of the night. This role involved quick calculations, making fair decisions, managing any conflicting opinions and collecting the token chips at the end of the night.
Bar and Floor staff - Wetherspoons
(2024-02)
I've worked at Wetherspoons for over two years, in this role I've learnt patience and customer service skills that will be useful in my next job. Here, I served drinks on the bar and delivered food to tables: making sure measurements for certain alcoholic beverages were correct and ensuring customers received their right food orders. In this role, I've experienced a variety of customers and ensured their time spent within the pub has been enjoyable.
I developed friendships with other staff members quickly, making sure to check on other team members when they seem upset and often dealing with difficult or disruptive customers on behalf of them when they're struggling to resolve conflicts.
