During a four-week work experience placement at B&M Stores, I supported the day-to-day running of the shop floor by assisting with stock management and merchandising tasks. This involved unpacking deliveries, checking stock levels, and replenishing shelves to ensure products were readily available and presented to a high standard for customers. I gained experience in rotating stock correctly, following stock control procedures to ensure older items were displayed before newer deliveries and helping to minimise waste.
Working as part of a busy retail team, I developed strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and an understanding of the importance of maintaining a safe, tidy, and well-stocked retail environment. The placement also enhanced my ability to work efficiently, follow instructions accurately, and contribute positively in a customer-focused workplace.
