I am 25 year old, self-taught Haskell developer who current works as a Software Engineer in Southampton, England.

I enjoy using Haskell and would like to make Plutus/Cardano based smart-contract projects.

Summers 2017 - 2022 (Project Coordinator) @ Lifegate Communities Walsall for BBC Children In Need

• I successfully devised plans and activities for children as well as led a team of 10 volunteers managing up to 50 children for 10 days for the BBC Children In Need communities project. This was a successful project and in 2019
• In 2021, in addition, I managed staffing and payroll alongside the aforementioned duties

2018-2020:

• A variety of retail and warehouse roles to give me supplementary income for my studies.

August 2020 – September 2022 (CMS Consultant) @ Alcumus Sypol

• I wrote CoSHH assessments and helped customers manage their systems and assessments through answering queries or writing them via Alcumus’ data entry systems.
• I planned to transition to the software side to help with user experience and interface to improve functionality for both staff and customers → years of analysing many video game interfaces coming to good use.
• However, the demands of the job meant that it was difficult to work an 8 hour day and self-teach programming (despite completing several courses), so I left to seek programming endeavours.

September 2022 - Present (Graduate Software Engineer) @ Roke Manor Research

• I recently started a new role in September at Roke Manor Research, despite limited prior software engineering experience
• Here I will be learning Python, Java and Networking for client work as well as support them on any functional programming-based projects or problem solving.
• Projects I have so far contributed to:
  • Developing a Python Wrapper to enable Android device automation.
  • Investigating smart contract cryptocurrencies and creating strategies for developing smart contracts.
  • Enabling custom embedded linux on devices and designing capability and usability for them.

Queen Mary’s Grammar School (2009 - 2016)

Achieved a Level 2 Certificate for Free Standing Maths Qualification at grade B

Achieved 3 A Levels at BBC in BIology, Chemistry and German respectively

I have obtained a 2.2 degree in Medical Physiology BSc Hons full time at the University of Leicester.

University of Derby, Applied Sport and Exercise Science (Physiology) MSc (2019 -2020)

I have achieved an MSc with Merit in this subject.

University of Helsinki, Haskell Massive Online Open Course (Jan 3 2022 - May 8 2022)

I am currently working through this online FP complete course and work on this in my free time some times.

Concurrently, I am working on completing this course and furthering my practical Haskell skills and starting using best practices in my work.
