Hi, I’m Tom, a frontend developer with a passion for accessibility and user-focused design. My journey into tech has been anything but traditional, which has shaped my adaptability, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
After completing the School of Code bootcamp in 2023, I’ve worked on projects that reflect my commitment to creating inclusive and user-friendly experiences, such as:
Bionic Reading Tool: Improving accessibility for neurodiverse users by enhancing readability and enabling customization.
Word Games for Kids: Helping my child, and maybe others develop reading skills through fun and engaging gameplay.
🛠️ Technical Expertise:
Frontend: React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Figma
Accessibility: Designing for neurodiverse users, ensuring readability and usability across platforms
Workflow: Agile methodologies, team collaboration, and iterative design
I’m a firm believer in the growth mindset—there’s always something new to research, learn, and explore. Having worked in a variety of roles, I’ve gained a broad perspective that helps me tackle challenges creatively.
I’m currently looking for opportunities in frontend or backend development. If I’m lucky enough to work on an accessibility-focused project, that’s brilliant—if not, I’ll keep building and learning in my own time.
I’m a frontend developer with a background in full-stack JavaScript projects and a focus on accessibility and user experience. Since completing the School of Code bootcamp, I’ve worked on personal and group projects using React, HTML, CSS, and Figma. My work includes building a Chrome extension to improve readability for neurodiverse users and creating reading games to support early literacy.
I enjoy collaborative problem-solving, learning new technologies, and creating tools that are usable by everyone.
I recently completed the School of Code bootcamp, a full-time, team-based coding course focused on full-stack development, agile workflows, and accessibility. I gained practical experience with JavaScript, React, Node.js, and collaborative problem-solving. Before that, I earned a degree in Computer Science, which gave me a strong foundation in logic, systems, and programming principles. The bootcamp helped me reconnect with coding and update my skills for modern development.
