Tom Cross

I am a keen member of the RAF Air Cadets, and I enjoy working with people and demonstrating leadership skills. I have completed various courses to recognised levels on radio use, first aid, shooting, leadership, along with first class, leading, and senior classifications.

During my time with the Air Cadets, I have been lucky enough to fly a glider and a powered aircraft. Furthermore, my interest in flying has extended outside of Air Cadets where I have flown a helicopter and another powered aircraft.

I am a guitarist for a Bridgend/Porthcawl based band, and we have played live multiple times in both Porthcawl and Bridgend. I also play bass guitar, and I am currently learning drums.

I am a keen swimmer and surfer, and I swim regularly before school. I was a member of Bridgend Swim Club for 3 years and was also a member of Pen-Y-Bont Surf Life Saving Club for over 4 years, where I learned key lifeguarding and first aid skills.

I regularly take part in extracurricular activities and courses such as an engineering course where I spent time in Swansea University and local industry (EDT Experience - Routes into STEM.) I have also taken part in a Cambridge University Seren program which provided insight into university life.

Finished my GCSEs, have not got results for any apart from maths.
