I’m a freelance eLearning designer and developer who works with education and training organisations to bring their content to life in creative and engaging ways. I’m passionate about digital learning and am always looking for new and innovative solutions for training and education needs. I provide a personal service, and with an extensive background in education and training, I can work in a wide range of sectors.
In 2008, after working as a Personal Trainer, I transitioned into education and training – I began training the trainers! I quickly discovered a love for teaching, so to hone my craft and better understand how my students learned, I went to college and gained my teaching qualifications.
After 6 years of teaching in a variety of settings, I became the manager of a learning support team. Here I learned about the challenges students face when studying independently and the importance of providing the right support for the individual.
I then moved into curriculum management. I was responsible for evolving the curriculum in line with industry changes, learner feedback, and advances in education technology. I had to provide tutors, QA's and internal staff with training and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality study programmes.
Then in 2018, I transitioned into the world of digital learning. I joined a qualification development team at a well-established Awarding Organisation. Here I oversaw the end-to-end development of eLearning courses and other digital resources.
In 2020 I started Tom Griffin Learning Design. Whilst I specialise in creating eLearning for formal education and training, I can help develop resources across any sector.
So there you go, that’s a brief overview of my career to date. I love education and understand the value of good learning experiences, and that's why I love doing what I do!
