I’m a dedicated MSc Clinical Psychology student with hands on experience as a Support Worker, providing care and emotional support to individuals with dementia, autism, PTSD and other complex needs.
My current role has strengthened my skills in communication, empathy, and reflective practice, while my studies have deepened my understanding of psychological models and evidence-based interventions. I’m particularly interested in pursuing a career in Clinical Psychology within the NHS and I am eager to build experience in assessment, intervention, and multidisciplinary teamwork.
I have worked as a Support Worker since August 2024, providing personalised care and emotional support to individuals with dementia, autism, PTSD and other complex needs. My role involves assisting with personal care, medication administration, companionship and meal preparation while promoting independence and wellbeing.
This experience has strengthened my communication, empathy and reflective practice skills and given me first hand insight into the psychological, behavioural and emotional challenges faced by vulnerable individuals. I work closely with multidisciplinary teams and have developed a strong interest in applying psychological principles to improve quality of life.
I hold a BSc (Hons) in Forensic Psychology, graduating with a 2:1 classification and I am currently completing an MSc in Clinical Psychology. My studies have deepened my understanding of psychological theories, assessment, and intervention approaches, alongside developing my skills in research design, data analysis, and reflective practice.
My academic and professional experience together have strengthened my motivation to pursue a career in Clinical Psychology within the NHS, where I hope to continue developing my knowledge of evidence based practice and person centred care.
