Intervention Teaching Assistant - Harold Wood Primary School

- Plan, lead & deliver lessons on all subjects within EYFS, KS1 and KS2 in the absence of the class teacher.
- Cover class teachers (Yr Reception – Yr 6), general TAs and SEN TAs, whenever and wherever required.
- Organise, plan and lead intervention sessions for small groups of targeted children to support their learning in targeted subjects, especially Maths, English, Reading, Science, Handwriting and Phonics.
- Plan and lead engaging 'Phonics' lessons following the 'Read Write Inc.' guidance.
- Support children on a one-to-one basis as well as in groups, to help achieve their individual academic targets.
- Set up classroom, organise resources, mark children's work, maintain achievement records for individual children in class.
- Support SEN children in small groups and on 1-to-1 sessions during lessons; support SEN & EAL children at specially designed activities; work in coordination to SENCO, Speech & Language Therapist.
- Assist children in classroom, PE sessions, Library, Swimming lessons, play-ground and educational school-trips.
- Manage disruptive/ challenging behaviour in children effectively, planning functional strategies to reinforce positive behaviour.

- Prepare weekly planning for whole class (EYFS).
- Support children in their learning, during play, during lunch and in their personal care routines.
- Take observations of children's progress, write reports, make assessments of children, maintain individual achievement-book for key children.
- Perform health & safety checks before start of every session, set up the classroom, displays, correction of children's works, organising resources, and smooth delivery of lessons.
