Hands-on Electrical Engineer with 6+ years of industrial electrical and mechanical engineering experience, with a strong focus on control-panel construction, wiring, testing, fault finding and research & development. Experienced in building and testing electrical panels for autoclaves and composite ovens, working with single- and three-phase AC systems and DC systems, and developing practical control solutions. Strong understanding of technical drawings, electrical testing, relays, motor control, inverters, soft starters, RS485/Modbus communications and pneumatic systems.

Comfortable taking projects from assembly and wiring through to testing, fault diagnosis and improvement.

Electrical Engineer / Head of Research & Development at Rodwell Engineering (2019-01 – Present)

Build, wire and test complex electrical control panels for industrial autoclaves and composite ovens.
Carry out electrical fault finding, diagnosis, testing and quality checks on machinery and control systems.
Review electrical drawings and wiring information and apply practical improvements during panel and machine build.
Lead and contribute to research and development of bespoke control systems for autoclaves and composite ovens.
Worked on the TS26 touchscreen control system, completing the electrical and mechanical assembly and contributing to the control-system code.
Build and wire single-phase and three-phase autoclaves and composite ovens, including systems incorporating monitored HEPA controls for Category 3 and 4 laboratory waste applications.
Develop practical panel-building solutions, including cable management, cable identification and accessible testing points.
Carry out electrical and mechanical maintenance on machinery and within the factory.
Perform functional testing, calibration and pressure testing of autoclaves and composite ovens.
Work with AC and DC systems and industrial components including relays, inverters and soft starters.
Work with RS485 and Modbus communications and have practical exposure to PLC/control-system interfaces.
Carry out pneumatic pipework and maintenance alongside electrical work.
Complete PCB assembly and soldering, including replacement of faulty electronic components.
Use welding equipment including MIG, TIG and stick welding where required.
