Communication, teamwork, relationship building, initiative and a strong work ethic are all vital to succeeding. Now I am back at University at Aston, I have resumed my role working at Dairy Fresh main depot, although it’s a different type of role, all those key elements are just as crucial. I work on my own initiative, but also as part of a team, communicating clearly daily, working to tight deadlines ensuring all orders are completed for daily delivery.
University life with a job that starts at 7am is a challenge, but one I relish! Teamwork, communication, and relationship building is vital as financial planners and analysts are required to develop relationships with new and existing clients to expand business. Completing my Gold Duke of Edinburgh has aided my development in team building and leadership. Through a Rotary Youth Leadership course, I further enhanced my team building and leadership skills. I led a team of 8 people and carried out several challenging activities in strenuous circumstances.
During the summer I was solely responsible for running Dairy Fresh Depot in Bradford. I was working on my own throughout this period, managing my own time, working unsupervised and ensuring all tasks were completed daily. I placed orders, managed inventory levels, rotated stock, picked orders for daily deliveries, provided drivers with the correct paperwork, ensured all health and safety protocols were adhered to, as well as maintaining a prominent level of hygiene standards.
Attention to detail and accuracy is imperative, to avoid availability issues for our customers, wastage, extra handling, and loss of profit. Working in the warehouse has provided me with a great insight into business, understanding supply chains and the movement of key products within that.
I look forward to hearing from you and having the opportunity to discuss the role and my experiences in greater detail.
Professional Profile A skilful, dynamic and positive individual studying towards a degree in Economics.
