About
I am a UK-based commissioning and electrical engineering leader with more than 15 years of electrical engineering experience and over 10 years in commissioning management and team leadership.
My experience spans transmission substations, HVDC, offshore and onshore wind, battery energy storage infrastructure and electrical grid connections serving data centres. I combine practical commissioning and testing knowledge with commissioning-function development, resource strategy, tender-stage cost estimation, project coordination and delivery governance.
In my most recent role, I developed the commissioning function's organisational and operating model, secured senior management approval for its structure, defined a three-year capability roadmap and established a resourcing approach combining internal personnel, specialist consultants and external commissioning providers. While the function was developing, I also personally reviewed commissioning requirements in EPC tenders, prepared the required commissioning deliverables and estimated the associated costs and resources.
Earlier, across Alstom Grid and GE Renewables, I co-led commissioning operations for the Construction and Field Service Division, supporting utility and wind-farm substation projects. My experience included commissioning schedules, resource allocation, team development, client and contractor interfaces, and commissioning documentation audits.
I hold an MSc in Electrical Engineering with Distinction, a BEng, CAPM certification and MIET membership. I am pursuing Chartered Engineer registration.
I welcome enquiries about senior commissioning leadership roles and consultancy engagements focused on commissioning strategy, function development, resource planning and delivery governance.
