Research Engineer

Project: Sustainability analysis of Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing for aerospace and automotive application using aluminium, zinc and magnesium components.

• Conducted comprehensive life cycle assessment to evaluate the environmental impact of WAAM compared to conventional manufacturing methods.
• Developed mathematical equations to quantify energy consumption and CO2 emissions at each manufacturing Stage. To conduct detailed analysis of WAAM's environmental footprint compared to conventional methods.
• Performed a sensitivity analysis to assess the environmental impact of WAAM, identified key parameters, developed strategies resulted a potential 73% reduction in energy consumption and CO2 emissions.

Project Engineer

Project: Study on high deposition rate process for Nickel Aluminium Bronze wire + Arc Additive manufacturing (WAAM).

• Designed and conducted experiment to achieve high deposition rate for NAB alloy through additive manufacturing.
• Achieved high deposition rates of 11.4Kg/h in bead plate trials and 8.3Kg/h for short walls and parallel pass walls.
• Established that NAB alloy can be deposited through skin and core strategy with CW-GMA technology.
• Built NAB walls for the different WAAM process parameters and analysed its microstructure and macrostructure.
