Mental Health Support Worker - Windemere House - Independent Mental Health Hospital

Working on a male unit supporting male patients who have been detained under the mental health act. This includes doing 1 to 1 observations which can vary from 15 minute to hourly checks. All observations are recorded accurately in each individuals care plan. The support within this role can vary from emotional, mental and physical wellbeing. Liasing with internal and external professionals and multi disciplinary teams.
Support Worker - Independent 1 - 1 client

Supporting a male client who suffers from mental health conditions such as paranoid schizophrenia. This includes supporting the individual to access the community and attend weekly appointments, such as weekly injections and meetings within the mental health team, communicating with mental health nurses and social workers.
Community Mental Health Support Worker - Hull And East Yorkshire Mind

Supporting individuals in the community who present with mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, psychosis, personality disorder and post traumatic stress disorder. Visiting clients in their home and support them with any struggles they may be dealing with and report any concerns/risks back to management or other professionals such as community mental health team, care co ordinator and social workers. This is all done via email or telephone.
Attending client reviews to share how each client is getting on, e.g any improvements or decline in a persons mental health and how they can be supported better within the service and external services.
Support Worker - New Found Care – Wasdale Court

Supporting individuals in a supported living environment who suffer with Mental Health conditions, autism, learning disabilities and challenging behaviours. This can range from a variety of support such as emotional, mental and physical wellbeing. Assisting each person to live independently by helping them cook meals, clean, attending any appointments they may have and personal care where necessary. Using the work van to take residents on days out, such as swimming, the beach, or for lunch.
Volunteer Befriender - Hull and East Yorkshire Mind

Having a 1 to 1 with a client every week in their supported living accommodation. This involves a general friendly chat but also providing a listening ear to the individuals struggles and supporting them in any way possible and sign posting them to services. Helping them engage in social activities to help with isolation and loneliness, such as joining new groups or going for a coffee.
Writing up notes on the client after each session, and reporting any safeguarding issues to the appropriate services and reporting any immediate risks and concerns.
Volunteer Facilitator - First Ladies Club

Volunteering as a Facilitator which involves welcoming and greeting new members. Making hot drinks on arrival. Promoting the club by taking leaflets to GPs and Pharmacies. Handing out cards with support numbers on them to the general public. Talking and listening to ladies who are struggling with their Mental Health, providing a non judgemental safe space for people to open up about how they are feeling and to get any problems off their chest.
