I am reading Bsc International Business with Spanish at the University of Birmingham, and I am due to start a year abroad in September at Universidad Complutense de Madrid. I consider myself a highly motivated individual, with good organisation skills and can work equally well independently and in a team. Being a hard-working, dynamic and proactive person, I am always willing to perform well, and to seek new innovative ideas. I have a rich work history that would make me an excellent candidate.
I have a rich work history in various industries that have taught me essential work skills. My first job was as a lifeguard for a local leisure centre, which taught me teamwork and organisation skills as I worked alongside my A-levels. Furthermore, over the course of my gap year, I worked as a Customer Support Advisor for Pokerstars and as EU Operations Controller for DHL Supply Chain. Both roles equipped me with essential communication skills and time management.
Advisor, in particular, made me resilient and taught me how to work under pressure as I was often presented with huge workloads. On the other hand, my role as an OC taught me how to be a problem solver, along with a critical thinker. Currently, I hold the role of a Student Ambassador for my University, which entails assisting Recruitment and Outreach departments with campus events, whilst also acting as a positive role model for my university.
I am glad to also say that I have secured a Spring Insight role for Goldman Sachs, hoping to gain skills in the Finance sector.
As mentioned, I currently read International Business with Spanish, specialising in Finance Modules. My degree provides me with a broad scope of knowledge on business operations, taught by experts in the field in state-of-the-art facilities. I will be pursuing a year abroad in Universidad Complutense de Madrid, however, I am hoping to pursue an internship whilst over there.
