Highly ambitious and driven microbiologist with four years of experience in containment level 2 laboratories, working independently and in teams. I’ve proven that I am incisive, meticulous and driven when conducting research, meeting deadlines and given certain objectives to meet.
My employment history is mainly in waitressing, barista and barmaid work. Despite this, I have also been in 3 veterinary working environments shadowing vets for experience.
Experience working in CL2 laboratories during my independent research project which was wet lab and bioinformatics-based. My undergraduate degree is a Microbiology BSc with Hons. Throughout my degree , I have effectively and carefully cultivated bacterial cultures, extracted DNA, conducted disk diffusion assays and PCR’s using gel electrophoresis.
As well as utilised bioinformatics applications such as Galaxy, CARD, antiSMASH, and BLASTN using 16s rRNA. I also have frequent experience using scientific equipment including a spectrophotometer, thermal cyclers and much more.
