I worked as a Warehouse Operative, Co-ordination and Supervisor at Tesco (formerly Wincanton) for 27 years. While there I was also head of the community outreach programme which did gardening and maintenance works around Doncaster. One particularly large project was Coppice School in Doncaster, where the team and I refitted the garden (built and animal pen, all general garden activities, floral borders on the grounds, vegetable patches) as well as painting, decorating and upkeep of other school buildings.
Former miner, warehouse operative for 27 years and gardener. Professional highlights include coordinating the warehouse department (frozen goods - loading) and community work while at Tesco. As a warehouse operative, I gained the skills of punctuality, task prioritisation, accuracy and detail oriented communication. While working as head of the community outreach team, I organised the team to work on different schools and other local services.
School, I overhauled their gardening space and crafted an animal pen, floral borders, vegetable patches and other general gardening work. I am also an avid gardener at home and I have completed projects such as building sheds, planters, a large greenhouse and I can also craft tables and benches.
I left school in 1983 after completing a City and Guilds apprenticeship in Mining Technology. Qualifications otherwise gained have been within the workplace training.
