Winson Lam

I am proficient in Python, Spark and SQL through application development and machine learning. This includes usage of libraries such as Pandas, Numpy and Scikitlearn, which sums up to 5 years of my work experience. Data visualisation and statistical inference are routine exercises in my data science job role. I often take these results to formulate new features/ideas to stakeholders.

I am a Data Scientist, graduated from UCL, with a Ph.D. in Electronics Engineering and 5 years’ work portfolio that involved projects of machine learning applications. With pride, my interdisciplinary skills are applied academically as well as industrial deliverables, with a skillset that spans from research-level Deep Learning to application-level programming. My role is a combination of consultant, researcher and developer for image classification, sequence modelling, NLP, A/B testing, metrics optimisation and Python/Scala.

Also, a multilingual talent in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin).

Prior to my PhD studies I have a background in Biomedical Science, where I majored in Pharmacology with foundations in Neurology and Physiology. The pathology of congestive heart failure, hypertension and other disease types are still very familiar to me.
