In July 2025, I completed work experience at Specsavers, where I gained valuable experience in a professional retail environment. I developed my understanding of customer service, teamwork and the importance of providing a positive experience for customers. I spent four days working in the lab, where I assisted with ordering glasses, tinting and cleaning lenses, using machinery to make lenses and frames, and packaging customer orders.
This helped me develop practical skills, attention to detail and confidence when working accurately with equipment. I also worked on the shop floor greeting customers, listening to their needs and helping them choose the most appropriate products and services. In addition, I observed reception duties, including answering phone calls, booking appointments and keeping records organised.
This experience strengthened my communication skills, confidence when dealing with customers and ability to work effectively as part of a team. I am keen to apply these skills in a customer-focused role at Three while continuing to learn and develop.
