Zach Gingrass

An entry-level paralegal who is an efficient researcher and analyst of politics and the law. Politics and the law have shaped my interests and passion for years through my college experiences and political science degree. I can quickly adapt to changing circumstances and pay attention to detail under pressure. I am looking for an opportunity to gain legal experience.

Lifeguard at Freeport Recreation Center (2023-01 – Present)

• Participated in civil service work and keeping a safe environment for patrons.
• Provided first aid and worked along with medical professionals.
• Certified in CPR by the Red Cross.

Internship at Lackawanna County District Attorney (2022-01 – 2023-12)

• Researched and gathered data on the Opioid crisis within the district.
• Aggressively researched 30 cases across the county within the total time at the internship.
• Worked to help offenders enroll in the Fresh Start program, which allowed them to seek treatment instead of being institutionalized.

Club Member – Criminal Justice Club/Debate Society/Society for Human Resources Management at The University of Scranton (2022-01 – 2024-12)

• Worked with other club members to learn the basics and advanced properties of criminal justice with the states of Pennsylvania and New York.
• Worked with faculty coaches to learn the science of debating and how to communicate my points coherently against other universities.
• Debated a vast amount of current American issues, such as immigration, labor reform, abortion, and the war in Ukraine.
• Participated in many public works and service projects within the community of Scranton, such as working within homeless shelters and fixing the infrastructure of public housing units.
• Became knowledgeable and proficient in the county's labor legislation, such as how retirement, employee relations, payroll, and benefits contribute to a more friendly work environment.
