I looked after an elderly gentleman with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), suffering from paralysis from neck down. He needed 24-hour care. My daily tasks consisted of assisting with daily hygiene, administering medication, planning meals, shopping, cooking, feeding and cleaning.
I was heavily involved in scheduling and organising GP and hospital appointments whilst keeping his family members updated on regular basis. I operated medical equipment which was necessary to assist him with his daily needs. I liaised with family members, social workers, district nurses and other professionals involved in his medical care.
I planned rotas for other care assistants who assisted with his care. It was my responsibility to ensure that all his needs were met. On several occasions I was faced with medical emergencies where ambulance was necessary.
I remained calm and professional, focusing on the wellbeing of my client.

In this role I worked as an administrative assistant in a company offering loft insulations. It was my responsibility to organise and file order documents. Once files were prepared they were passed onto my manager who then distributed them to the relevant departments.
