As a student at Royal Holloway, University of London, studying Economics and Data Science, I'm developing a strong foundation in both the analytical and technical aspects of modern economies. Through my coursework, I've explored microeconomic concepts such as consumer utility and market behaviour, alongside macroeconomic themes like GDP growth, inflation, and policy impacts. The integration of R programming and data analytics has enhanced my ability to interpret complex economic data, model real-world scenarios, and draw evidence-based insights.
This combination of economic understanding and quantitative skills positions me well for future roles in AI, finance, and business strategy, where data-driven decision-making and economic reasoning are key to innovation and impact.
Work Experience - Del and Co Chartered Accountants
(2023-07 - 2023-08)
During my work experience at Del & Co, I gained valuable insight into core accounting processes and financial management. I was involved in preparing and submitting VAT returns and financial accounts, and I learned the importance of the trial balance as a foundation for accurate financial statements-essential at year-end for assessing a firm's performance. I was also introduced to key financial analysis tools, including investor ratios that evaluate a company's financial position.
Additionally, I assisted in planning various budgets such as production, labour, purchase, and sales budgets, which collectively formed a master budget used for strategic decision-making. This experience taught me how budgeting guides resource allocation and motivates managerial efficiency. I further developed key skills in organisation, attention to detail, and meeting tight deadlines, all of which are critical in a professional finance environment.
