Whilst studying, and since graduating a year ago from The University of Manchester, I have worked in the hospitality sector. I have strong team work, interpersonal, communicative and organisational skills that I am eager to apply to a new position. I have developed a keen interest in sales, and would like to begin my career in a high-quality company where I can draw on the skills I have developed in previous roles.
Largely catering to the needs of corporate and social events, including private hires in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Cooperating across departments and communicating with the sales team and event organisers are part of my daily responsibilities.
With HAP, I have undertaken roles such as waitressing, bar tending, till work, ticket scanning, stewarding, food runner and covid tester. By nature, agency work means the role and work environment is different on every job. As a result, adapting to a new environment and team has become second nature.
This role was at the O2 Apollo in Manchester as bar staff. Due to the structure of the shows that took place there, we were required to serve a high volume of customers within very short periods during intervals. The venue often had logistical issues so I certainly developed my problem-solving abilities in this role.
Covid-19 Tester
Ranstad CPE - London August 2021 to October 2021
This was a temporary position to cater for the high demand for covid-19 testing at the time. We were responsible for overseeing and completing the lateral flow tests of whole schools (often 600 children) before their school day. This was a very strange time for everyone, and so reassuring and communicating with the children was very important.
Cannons Fish and Chips - London June 2017 to January 2020
Operating the till and fulfilling both in-person and takeaway orders were key in this role. It was often a high-pressure evironment, where lots of tasks had to be balanced. I was soon promoted to the position of a supervisor, which gave me responsibilities such as making stock orders and dealing with customer queries and complaints.
