Zoe McCann

I have two years' experience as a support worker to both adults and young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Between June 2021 and March 2023, I worked for Belfast Central Mission as a support worker providing practical and emotional support to 16-21-year-olds in a supported living project.

Since January 2023, I have worked as a support worker at a Salvation Army hostel for homeless males.

I have over two years of experience of key-working service users with the goal of helping them to secure stable accommodation and develop the skills they need to live independently. My work to date has given me detailed knowledge of the benefits system and extensive experience of liaising with relevant external agencies to ensure that service users receive optimal care.

I hold an MPhil in English Language, an MA in English Language (distinction) and a BA in English (1st class). I have also completed training in a range of social care modules relevant to the homelessness and care sectors.
