I have worked as a Senior Laboratory Technician for 15 years and have taken great pride in my work and have achieved a lot, from Chemical preperation, to Health and safety.
At this current moment i believe i have succeeded in my current role and now feel too dedicate my career to something totally different. I know i can thrive as a chauffeur as i do enjoy driving to different locations locally and internationally.
Handling, Storing and Hazard control of Chemicals, Practical Preparation, Stock order and Monitoring,
up to date financial records, COSHH and CLEAPSS Laboratory Regulations, Health and Safety regulator,
Quality control of Laboratories, Health and safety of Chemicals and Equipments, Repairing and maintenance of resources, Constructing and Modifying apparatus, Disposing of waste material, Trialling practical activities, Carrying out risk assessments, Providing technical support to teachers and students,
Keeping up to date with practical science and Health safety, Safety checks of Electrical equipment,
Fume cupboards, first aid kit, Bunsen burner tubing, Eye protection, glassware and Chemicals, General housekeeping duties.
My role also involves me being a Health and Safety officer to the Science Department with 11 years experience, and part of the building safety committee with 10 years experience my typical responsibilities included investigating any faults, recording incidents and accidents, undertaking risk assessments and department inspections and across the site, identifying potential hazards, determining ways to reduce risks, attending health and safety committee meetings termly and keeping up to date and ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
Contributing to safety policies and procedures that protect employees and encourage compliance with government regulations. Key achievement conducted 50+ inspections to ensure 100% compliance with
COSHH and NEBOSH regulations and developed corrective action plans for non-compliance.
