Software Developer, Full Stack

About the Role

Motito is looking for a capable Full-Stack Software Developer to help build, improve, and maintain reliable digital products. You will work across the backend, database, and frontend, taking features from initial requirements through implementation, testing, and deployment.

We are looking for an engineer who understands software fundamentals, makes thoughtful technical decisions, and uses AI tools to improve productivity without depending on them to produce or understand their work.

Responsabilities

• Build and maintain full-stack web applications.
• Develop secure and scalable backend services using Python and Django.
• Design, query, and optimize PostgreSQL databases.
• Build responsive and accessible frontend experiences using React.js.
• Translate product requirements into maintainable technical solutions.
• Write clean, tested, and well-documented code.
• Debug production issues and improve application reliability.
• Review code and contribute to technical decisions.
• Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly for research, prototyping, testing, debugging, and documentation.
• Collaborate with product, design, and business teams.

Requirements

• Mid-level to senior professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python and Django.
• Strong experience building modern frontend applications with React.js.
• Solid experience with PostgreSQL, including database design and query optimization.
• Demonstrated ability to build and ship full-stack web applications.
• Good knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience designing and integrating REST APIs.
• Familiarity with Git, testing, deployment workflows, and production environments.
• Ability to understand, explain, debug, and maintain the code you produce.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and ownership skills.
• Practical fluency with AI development tools while maintaining sound engineering judgment.

What We Mean by AI Fluency

We value developers who know how to use AI tools effectively for research, implementation, debugging, documentation, and testing. However, candidates must be able to independently evaluate generated code, identify errors and security risks, explain technical decisions, and take responsibility for production outcomes.

This is not a "vibe coding" role. Strong engineering fundamentals, critical thinking, and code ownership are essential.

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud infrastructure, Docker, and CI/CD.
• Knowledge of application security and performance optimization.
• Experience building payment, financial technology, e-commerce, or marketplace products.
• Experience working in a startup or fast-moving product team.
