- Provide troubleshooting, repair and proactive maintenance on process equipment
- Comply with health and safety regulations, company policies, procedures and the company environmental compliance policies
- Switching of HV breakers
- Repair and services of industrial lighting systems
- Assist operation, maintenance and metallurgical groups by understanding, troubleshooting, problem solving and optimizing instruments, equipment's and systems
- Experience in isolating procedures, identification and definition of isolation points according to the setup
- Terminates all instruments cables
- Performs advance valve/actuator repairs and calibration
- Adapt calibration and preventive procedures
- Utilize test equipment's to calibrates instruments

- Attends production morning meetings
- Maintain the Power Plant Operations Log and other documentation/reports for equipment, associated test-runs, etc
- Developing the plant Standard Task Procedures
- Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)/ liaise with the warehouse to re-stock part for the plant
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise the operation of the Power Plant and related facilities
- Ensure that any operational changes are communicated, as well as documented in Standard Operating Procedures
- Perform a full range of duties pertaining to monitoring, operating and adjusting controls to generate specified electrical power, or to regulate the flow of power between generating stations and substations at the Power plant and related facilities
- Control and maintain auxiliary equipment, such as pumps, fans, compressors, to supply water, fuel, lubricants, air and auxiliary power
- Open and close valves and switches in sequence upon signals from other workers in order to start or shut down auxiliary units
- Assign and perform plant rounds and inspections; review and monitor readings and recordings of gauge and instrument information to evaluate the function of auxiliary - and other equipment
- Modify and update plant round sheets as necessary for efficient operations
- Monitor supplies and maintain appropriate inventories; estimate quantities of materials and supplies needed and place orders; recommend and assist with equipment purchases
- Troubleshoot operation problems and make adjustments or minor repairs, such as tightening leaking gland and pipe joints; reports any needs for major repairs
- Observe and enforce appropriate safety procedures, including those related to working in confined spaces and the safe handling chemicals
- Train staff in work techniques, use of equipment and safety programs and techniques such as confined space entry procedures and operations safety procedures

- Maintain continuous production by resolving problems with electrical equipment L.V and H.V systems in the Power Station
- High Voltage experiences include familiarity with HV switching and installations up to 11KV, overhead transmission lines, transformers, generators, switchboards, motors and VF drives
- Ability to communicate across with other maintenance and trade groups to coordinate efficient maintenance activities and planning of shutdowns
- Familiarity working to a budget and ability to control costs
- Demonstrated leadership skills

Conduct safe troubleshooting, replacement, repair, testing and general maintenance of electrical and instrumentation production equipment and systems, according to electrical codes and specifications, to optimize plant processing and production.

- Confirm that tag-outs / lock-outs are in place when disconnecting / connecting and removing electrical motors
- Monitor substations in the plant and carry out any maintenance procedures
