Database Administrator

We are looking forward for a talented person to join our IT team as a Database Administrator. The candidate will be responsible for monitoring, installing, configuring and managing the databases (Oracle and PostgreSQL) that all live services are using. A good cooperation with all departments involved is essential in order to maximize the efficiency and achieve a fast, smooth and stable database performance.

Responsibilities

• Support multiple servers and multiple databases of high complexity with multiple concurrent users, ensuring control, integrity and accessibility of the data
• Participate in, and potentially lead, the development of solutions to a variety of difficult engineering issues requiring full grasp of a broad range of database engineering principles
• Install and configure Oracle database and Oracle RAC (Oracle Linux environments)
• Implement RMAN backup and recovery procedures
• Install and configure PostgreSQL database
• Performance monitoring
• Perform database capacity planning
• Database, Query and Application performance analysis, tuning and optimization
• Performs database re-organization as required to assist performance and ensure maximum uptime of the database.
• Assists with impact analysis of any changes made to the database objects
• Provides support for application automated processes

The ideal candidate will have

• A BA/BSc Degree or similar computer/engineering/ Information System Engineering degree
• Postgraduate degree will be considered as an asset
• In depth experience as an expert in Oracle, PostgreSQL and Oracle RAC concepts/internals
• Understanding of solutions to be implemented for large databases on Linux environments
• Experience in Database Warehouse, partitioning, PL/SQL coding skills
