🧑💻🧑💻 Are you a seasoned DevOps Engineer looking to take full ownership of a modern cloud platform? Flexi, a leading Gaming company, is expanding its team and searching for a seasoned DevOps Engineer who doesn't just maintain infrastructure — they continuously evolve it.
Key Responsibilities ⛏️
As a Remote DevOps Engineer at Flexi, you will own the reliability, scalability, and cost-efficiency of our cloud platform. Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing, implementing, and owning end-to-end CI/CD pipelines with a focus on speed, reliability, and zero-downtime deployments.
- Architecting and fine-tuning highly available, fault-tolerant systems on Google Cloud — including load balancing, auto-scaling groups, multi-region failover, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Proactively managing cloud costs through resource right-sizing, committed use discounts, autoscaling policies, and infrastructure spend analysis — with measurable impact on monthly GCP bills.
- Evaluating, onboarding, and deeply configuring new GCP-native and third-party services (e.g., Cloud Spanner, Memorystore, Pub/Sub, Cloud Armor, Vertex AI tooling) to meet evolving product needs.
- Owning Kubernetes cluster operations: tuning resource requests/limits, configuring HPA/VPA, managing node pools, and optimizing workload scheduling for both performance and cost.
- Building and enforcing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) standards using Terraform — no manual console changes.
- Defining and maintaining SLOs/SLIs, setting up alerting strategies, and driving incident response and post-mortems.
- Collaborating closely with development teams to shape architecture decisions, review infrastructure requirements, and advise on cloud-native design patterns.
- Leading container strategy: designing production-grade Docker configurations, multi-stage builds, and hardened base images for both local development and production environments.
- Partnering with QA teams to build robust test automation infrastructure and staging environments that mirror production fidelity.
Qualifications 📚
5+ years of hands-on experience in a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering role, ideally in a high-traffic or real-time product environment.
Deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform — not just familiarity, but proven experience designing and tuning production workloads across GCP services.
Strong command of Kubernetes in production: cluster tuning, resource optimization, network policies, RBAC, and persistent storage configuration.
Demonstrated ability to reduce infrastructure costs — bring examples of cost optimization wins you've personally driven.
Solid experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred) and GitOps workflows.
Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python and/or Bash) for operational tasks, tooling, and custom integrations.
Hands-on experience with observability stacks (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Cloud Operations Suite) — building dashboards, defining alerts, and acting on data.
Experience designing for high availability: understanding of replication, failover, circuit breakers, and graceful degradation patterns.
Familiarity with security best practices: secrets management (Vault, GCP Secret Manager), network segmentation, IAM least-privilege, and vulnerability scanning in pipelines.
- Experience with Bitbucket Pipelines or equivalent CI tooling is a strong plus.
- Ability to work autonomously, make architectural decisions independently, and communicate trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Benefits:
- Competitive salary
- As a growing startup, meaningful opportunities for career growth and technical leadership.
- Direct influence over infrastructure decisions — no red tape.
- Health and wellness benefits.
- Collaborative and inclusive remote-first work environment.
Our Unique Culture 🌟
We are a remote team, but we like to meet at our Athens offices once in a while to catch up in person! We love working with people who take ownership and bring genuine enthusiasm to what they do. We hate micromanagement, traditional hierarchy, and KPIs.
🚀Ready to own the platform? Submit your resume and a cover letter. In your cover letter, tell us about a specific infrastructure challenge you solved — bonus points if it involved cost savings, reliability improvements, or onboarding a new service from scratch.
Flexi is an equal opportunity employer. We encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds.
