Mid Database DevOps Engineer

Your Role at HFM (Responsibilities):<\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/h4>As a Database DevOps Engineer<\/span>, you will:<\/span>

<\/p>

• Participate in the planning, management, and scaling of datastores to meet requirements.

  <\/span><\/li>

• Protect databases through rigorous testing of backup and recovery processes and perform regular security audits.

  <\/span><\/li>

• Use software and tooling to automate manual tasks, enabling engineers to innovate without risking data integrity.

  <\/span><\/li>

• Conduct risk analysis to determine which database challenges to address and which to automate or optimize.

  <\/span><\/li>

• Work closely with DevOps and team leaders to ensure high levels of standardization, reliability, testability, maintainability, and system availability.

  <\/span><\/li>

• Educate and support developers, building necessary guardrails to empower them in their database management efforts.

  Requirements<\/h3>

  What You Bring (Requirements):<\/span>

  <\/h4>

  • Familiarity with Python<\/span>

    <\/li>

  • Strong foundation in database design, implementation, and maintenance of RDBMSs.

    3+ years of working experience. <\/span><\/li>

  • Ability to guide software engineers in optimizing database performance through query structuring and database engine fine -tuning.<\/span>

    <\/li>

  • Expertise in preventing database failures and handling failure recovery scenarios.<\/span>

    <\/li>

  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git.<\/span>

    <\/li>

  • Ability to communicate technical concepts across teams effectively.<\/span>

    <\/li>

  • Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Graphite, and Grafana.<\/span>

    <\/li>

  • Skilled in documenting and presenting best practices for data storage systems to internal and external teams.<\/span>
