Mid/Senior Product Engineer (Python/FastAPI)

About the Role & Platform:

We are a multidisciplinary team in a growth phase, building Orisign, a platform that helps enterprise engineering leaders govern AI-assisted software delivery through evidence, management insight and independent assurance.

As software engineering evolves toward agentic engineering, we're creating the management layer that helps organisations adopt AI responsibly without sacrificing quality, security or shared understanding.

This is not a traditional backend engineering role. You'll alternate between building the product, helping enterprise customers adopt it, and bringing those real-world learnings back into the platform. The level of ownership across architecture, client engagements and mentoring will be calibrated to experience, with senior candidates expected to take greater technical and customer-facing leadership.

What You Will Do

• Core Engineering: Build and evolve core platform capabilities that create measurable value for enterprise engineering organisations.
• Production Systems: Build and operate production-grade services that remain reliable, observable, maintainable and scalable as Orisign grows.
• Technical Consulting: Act as a client-facing technical partner, contributing to—and, at senior level, leading—integration workshops, helping clients configure Orisign in enterprise environments and translating their needs into technical specifications.
• System Integrations: Design and implement secure integrations with third-party SDLC platforms (repositories, issue trackers, work management tools) and complex authentication flows (SSO, OAuth).
• Engineering Quality: Apply rigorous software engineering practices to our own codebase, including testing, maintainability, security and review discipline—reflecting Orisign's own mission around trustworthy software delivery.
• Cross-Functional Delivery: Work seamlessly across software development and delivery, contributing to product strategy and full-stack problem-solving.
• Coaching: Share knowledge with the team and, at senior level, mentor and guide more junior colleagues.
• Ownership & Influence: Contribute directly to product direction, technical decisions and customer engagements, with meaningful ownership over how Orisign evolves.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: 4 years of professional software engineering experience building, scaling, and supporting production systems.
• Backend Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with Python, FastAPI and asynchronous application development.
• Full-Stack Capability: A solid understanding of frontend principles and the ability to navigate the entire stack when necessary.
• Core Tooling: Practical experience with Docker and working effectively within modern development, testing and delivery environments.
• AI Assisted Engineering: We expect engineers to actively and critically use AI-assisted engineering practices. We care less about which coding assistant you've used and more about your ability to evaluate AI-generated code, automate repetitive work and continuously improve your engineering workflow without compromising quality.
• Security & Integrations: Proven background building API integrations and implementing modern identity/authentication standards (OAuth, SSO, SAML).
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to discuss technical requirements and integration details confidently with client engineering teams and leadership.
• Versatility: A proactive team player comfortable operating without traditional silos, moving efficiently between coding, systems design, and client advisory tasks.

What we offer

€45,000–€55,000 gross annual salary, depending on experience, private health insurance, training and conference budget, hybrid working, exposure to Tier-1 enterprise clients across Europe, and meaningful ownership of a product being built from the ground up. You'll work close to product decisions, customers and the technical evolution of Orisign rather than within a narrowly defined engineering silo.
