Panagiotis Christakakis

I hold two Master's degrees in Artificial Intelligence & Data Analytics and Robotics & STEAM Technologies, with a strong focus on Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Computer Vision. My research interests lie in developing AI-driven solutions for real-world challenges, and I have 15 relevant publications. Currently, I work as an AI Engineer, where I lead the development of ML and DL solutions for computer vision and predictive analytics applications, while providing technical leadership to a team of four researchers and engineers working on ML and AI development activities.

My work spans the complete ML lifecycle, including research, experimentation, model development, evaluation, optimization, and deployment in real-world environments. Also, I coordinate project management activities in two EU funded projects, supporting planning, progress monitoring, and facilitating effective collaboration among project partners.

AI Engineer - Project Manager - Research Associate at CERTH (2023 – Present)

• Lead the design, development, evaluation, and deployment of end-to-end ML/DL pipelines for computer vision and predictive analytics applications, from experimentation and model evaluation to production-ready solutions.
• Project coordination in the EU Horizon E-SPFdigit, EmergeNOW, PestNu projects, for planning, progress monitoring, facilitating effective collaboration among partners, and leading the technical implementation of AI and ML solutions within a small ML research team.
