Managing Your Conversations

Your Message Inbox

All your conversations live in Dashboard > Messages. The inbox displays your threads sorted by most recent activity, so the conversations that need your attention appear at the top.

Navigating Conversations

• Open a thread by clicking on any conversation in your inbox list.
• Scroll up within a thread to view older messages in the conversation history.
• Switch between threads by returning to the conversation list and selecting a different contact.
• On mobile, the interface adapts to a single-column layout. Use the back button to return from a thread to your conversation list.

Staying on Top of New Messages

BeBee provides several ways to make sure you never miss an important message:

1. Push notifications -- Enable them in your browser or device settings. You will receive an alert each time a new message arrives.
2. Unread indicators -- Conversations with unread messages display a visual badge so you can spot them at a glance.
3. Real-time updates -- Open threads refresh automatically. There is no need to reload the page to see new replies.

Tips for Keeping Your Inbox Organized

• Reply promptly. Quick responses lead to more productive conversations, especially during hiring or service negotiations.
• Review older threads. If a recruiter or client messaged you weeks ago, scroll back to refresh your memory before replying.
• Use context clues. Each thread shows the other person's name and profile picture, helping you quickly identify who you are talking to.

Mobile Experience

On phones and tablets, BeBee's messaging is designed for one-handed use. If you tap "Send Message" on someone's profile and you already have an open conversation with them, the app takes you directly to that existing thread instead of creating a duplicate. The browser back button works as expected, returning you to the previous screen.
