Join a leading financial services firm, partnered with a Hungarian company known for innovative IT solutions, as a Java Software Engineer. This role is crucial in the strategic initiative to modernize the Market Risk platform. Positioned at the Director level within our Technology division, you will leverage innovation to enhance the capabilities that power our firm, enabling our clients and colleagues to redefine markets and shape the future.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Contribute to the function through complex project tasks and initiatives.
• Regular interaction with team members across different regions and occasional discussions with leadership.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, providing technical guidance and direction.
• Architect solutions that meet performance, scalability, and security requirements.
• Drive technical excellence through code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define project roadmap and technical strategy.
• Implement and advocate for best practices in software engineering and design patterns.
• Evaluate and adopt new tools and technologies.
• Maintain and enhance existing software applications to optimize performance and functionality.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies, trends, and tools to drive innovation and continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• 5 years hands-on experience with Java, Spring, RDBMS.
• Strong object-oriented design and development skills, data-structures and algorithms, and design patterns.
• Excellent analytical ability.
• Strong experience with relational databases logical modelling.
• Proficiency in querying large relational databases in an optimized manner.
• Experience in designing systems using Junit for unit testing.
• Ability to write scripts in Shell/Python.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently following proper coding standards.
• Exposure to leveraging AI agents and automation tools across software development, validation, and production deployment.
